Mozart Homage
Join us on 12 and 13 September in Limerick and Waterford for a Mozart Homage with Katherine Hunka. Be amazed by his brilliant Divertimento and Schnittke’s fun-filled Moz-Art à la Haydn. Sink in your seat to Tchaikovsky’s mesmerising Serenade for Strings.
Schumann the Romantic
Feel the love and celebration in Schumann’s Overture, Scherzo, and Finale inspired by his marriage. Jörg Widmann’s evocative Chorale Quartet is stark yet beautiful. Delight in the joy and exhilaration of Schumann’s infectious Spring Symphony performed with verve by Widmann and ICO on Saturday 5 October in Limerick.
Mozart Requiem
Experience the heartache and the genius of Mozart's Requiem. Join us and Chamber Choir Ireland conducted by Thomas Zehetmair for this epic extravaganza. Ailish Tynan, Soprano Carolyn Holt, Mezzo Soprano Robin Tritschler, Tenor Padraic Rowan Bass will blow you away in Dublin on 17 November.
Zeitgeist Ireland 24
Mozart's Requiem takes Berlin by storm on Saturday 23 November, as part of Zeitgeist Irland 24, an initiative of Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Germany. On Sunday 24 November, Germany can delight in the traditions of Irish music with Singer Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh as Róisín Reimagined pairs Muireann’s exquisite vocals with fresh orchestral arrangements of sean nós songs. Both ICO performances take place at Elisabeth Church, Berlin.
Viola Vacancy
We are hiring! The closing date for Viola applications is 16 August. 5pm and auditions will be held at the ICO Studio, UL, Limerick on Wednesday & Thursday 2-3 October.

Festivals, Movies, Culture & Classes!
- Six of our ICO Youth members who travelled to Pesaro for the SEYO summer residency excelled in the 'Song for Earth' Concert before an audience of 600 and online 4,500 people.
- On 13 September, ICO Youth will pump up the volume of the silent ‘Buster Keaton’ movie Scarecrow at Full Moon Rising Festival.
- On 17 September they participate in Bangers and Crash featuring Composer Brian Irvine at the Lime tree Theatre in Limerick.
- Finally, hear them on Culture Night at the Captains Room, at the Hunt Museum on 20 September at 5.30pm. All welcome!
- Meanwhile, our ICO Schools programme is preparing for the year ahead, developing lesson plans and dreaming up creative ways to engage and share the joy of music, with over 400 children from Limerick City. It's exciting, busy, and we love it!
