The Stones of Life
Our exciting Spring Season opens with concerts on 9 and 10 February in Limerick and Dublin, as rising star Killian Farrell conducts us in two all-time great symphonies. Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony, full of vitality and fun, is paired with Mozart’s thrilling Jupiter in all its grandeur. Sharon Carty sings Deirdre Gribbin’s The Stones of Life, sweeping you beyond your imagination while one of Mahler's finest arias will trigger your deepest emotions.
The Goldberg Variations
Norwegian Violinist Henning Kraggerud returns to the fold for concerts in Limerick, Bantry, and Dublin on 7, 8 and 9 March as he takes on Bach’s Goldberg Variations, putting his own stamp on this iconic work. Come and explore its mystery with Henning’s revealing words and musical demonstrations, before savouring the work in full! Be amazed as the magic will take you to another unexpected place.
Sing Out With Strings
Sing Out With Strings featured prominently at Scales and Scéals at First Fortnight 2024 on 12 January at Limerick City Art Gallery. Pupils from St. Mary’s N.S. performed with Harpist, Aisling Ennis, setting the scene for some entertaining stories presented in association with Narrative 4. This event highlights the importance of cultural and educational experiences in youth development.
The 28th Festival of Youth Orchestras
The 28th Festival of Youth Orchestras takes place in the National Concert Hall on Saturday, 10 February at 1pm and ICOYO take centre stage alongside some of the country’s finest ensembles. This festival, celebrating youth orchestras, features a diverse range of music played by young people, for young people. On 12 February they participate in Corda Connections, pictured above, a string collaboration at Laois School of Music in association with Music Generation Louth and Kerry.
