The Goldberg Variations
Norwegian Violinist Henning Kraggerud returns to the fold for concerts in Limerick, Bantry, and Dublin on 7, 8 and 9 March as he takes on Bach’s Goldberg Variations, putting his own stamp on this iconic work. Come and explore its mystery with Henning’s revealing words and musical demonstrations, before savouring the work in full! Be amazed as the magic will take you to another unexpected place.
Mozart, Bach & Tchaikovsky
German Violinist Carolin Widmann presents three timeless masterworks in Tallaght, Limerick, Newport Co. Mayo, and Wexford from the 10-13 April. Enjoy Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nactmusik, one of the most familiar and famous works. J.S. Bach’s A minor Violin Concerto will amaze you with its warm, inventive and magical melodies. Finally, be seduced by the streets of Florence as you delve into magic that inspired Tchaikovsky’s sparkling Souvenir de Florence.
Trumpet Sounds
Norwegian Trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth is quite astonishing. Making her ICO debut,Tine challenges the boundaries of genres with a colourful expedition through Wales, Norway, Poland Czechoslovakia to South America. A feast of delights from Elgar, Grieg, Bacewicz, Neruda and Piazzolla will sink you in your seats on 9 and 10 May in Limerick and Dublin.
ICO Youth (formerly ICOYO)
ICO Youth excelled this month at the Festival of Youth Orchestras at NCH Dublin playing to a capacity hall and to a standing ovation! They are busy preparing for a performance with the Corda Connections String Orchestra at the Music Generation National Conference at Convention Centre, Dublin on 2 March and for an upcoming St. Patrick's Day celebration - details to be announced soon.
ICO Schools (formerly Sing Out With Strings)
ICO Schools are busy preparing for a concert of traditional music to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, at The Hunt Museum on Saturday 16th March. Details coming soon!
