The later performance features Vivaldi’s much loved Four Seasons which never fails to enchant with its freshness and musical brilliance.  Each season features three short movements, prefaced by a sonnet, full of allusions ripe for sonic depiction. Enjoy these musical snapshots like you have never heard them before.  The guttural rasp on the viola in the central movement of Spring mimics the barking of a shepherd’s dog, while birdsong, storms and zephyrs come across clearly, as does the shepherd’s tears in Katherine Hunka’s plaintive Summer solo and the peasant’s inebriated lolling in Autumn.
