In November 2008, the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s remarkable new home at the University of Limerick was officially opened by Martin Cullen TD, Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism.
The Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio is located at the highest elevation on the North Bank of the UL Campus. The building accommodates a double-height 300-square-metre Rehearsal Studio. This state-of-the-art space has been acoustically modelled to highest standards. It provides rehearsal and recording facilities for the orchestra as well as allowing the organisation to expand its education remit, enabling schoolchildren and other members of the community to come and work with the orchestra.

The building also includes soloist and conductor rehearsal rooms, an instrument store-room, a musicians’ common room along with ample office accommodation for the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s administrative team. Having its own home provides a valuable and inspiring resource for the orchestra, the University of Limerick and the local community.
